Harden, Chief Executive
Officer (founder)
Harden has
in-depth experience in Web technologies, Internet marketing and
networked learning. Before working as Director of Business
Development for the educational technology group at Fourth Dimension
Interactive, he founded a non-profit Web-based community devoted to
science writing and academic science studies. Harden has published
widely on the subjects of science and visual systems of
communication. He has an MA from UCLA and a BA from Stanford
University and taught at UCLA.
Gary Himes, CFO/VP,
Corporate Development
Himes has
extensive experience in raising capital and M&A transactions in
the technology and healthcare industries. Prior to joining
Coursemetric, Himes was Vice President of the merchant banking
concern Colman, Furlong and Co. and an Investment Banking Associate
at Prudential Securities. Himes wrote his BA thesis on the role of
voucher payment systems in public education reform. Himes earned his
BA in Economics from the University of Colorado and his MBA from the
Anderson School at UCLA.
Tim Sawyer,
Creative Director (founder)
Sawyer has 12 years experience in creative design, brand
development and advertising. He has worked for ad industry leaders
Foote Cone & Belding and Bayer Bess & Vanderwalker, and
recently held the position of Creative Director in the Chicago
offices of BBDO. With partner Lisa Nielsen, Sawyer is responsible
for the creative success of Internet brands TalkCity, Vital Signs,
VA Research and many others. He has a degree from the Bath Academy
of Art in England.
Sharra
Smith, Education Services Director (founder)
Smith has a
background in both education and educational technology product
development. She recently worked devising electronic math and
science products for Lucas Learning and has also developed Web-based
curricula for NASA. Smith taught high school science and has first
hand experience incorporating electronic materials into the
classroom. She has an MA (Education) and a BA (Human Biology) from
Stanford.
Andrew
Guldman, Interim Director, Software Engineering
Through our partnership with a
leading San Francisco Web-engineering company, Fluid Design and
Development, we employ a team of sophisticated Web engineers led by
Guldman. Previously a senior engineer for the Fireman’s Fund,
Guldman has extensive experience modeling complex client-server
database applications, developing Web-based software and managing
large teams of software engineers. Guldman has a BS in Computer
Science from Brown University.
Guillaume
ardoise, R&D Engineer
Ardoise has over
eight years of academic training, research, and work experience in
Computational Simulation. At Coursemetric, he is responsible for all
facets of the company's Web technology development. He participated
in the definition of the technical specifications of Relational
Databases as well as computer codes for the French Navy, and he
developed and optimized Computational Fluid Dynamic codes at
Polytechnique de Montreal, Canada. Ardoise was a Graduate Student
Instructor in Physics at UC-Berkeley and has tutored Mathematics and
Physics in France and Canada. He has a M.Eng from
UC-Berkeley.
