Trained
as painter and teacher at the Bath Academy of Art she has
concentrated since 1975 on designing and making tapestries for
specific sites and on using wool and its transformation into
hand-spun yarn which can bring warmth, texture and colour into a
space. Many of her designs have come from landscape and her relief
tapestries from visits to the marble and limestone quarries in Italy
and France. Travelling extensively in India has extended her
range of colour, understanding of textile and use of
symbolism.
Her
work can be found in many collections in the UK and abroad and has
been shown extensively in selected mixed exhibitions. She is a
member of the Devon Guild of Craftsmen.
